Scottish Snowdrop Festival 2026

The 2026 Snowdrop Festival will begin on the 26th January and run until 11th March.

Winter may still be at bay, but with a chill in the autumn air we prepare for the beauty the season ahead holds. From Monday, 26th January until Wednesday, 11th March, the Scottish Snowdrop Festival will be celebrating the arrival of one our most iconic flowers.

Dozens of gardens across the country will be opening their gates so that visitors can enjoy the spectacle of snowdrop-covered woods. Some gardens will also be hosting special events, with moonlight snowdrop walks, snowdrop-inspired crafting sessions and live music.

The countdown is on! Events are already going live and searchable online, with more launching soon, SEARCH HERE.

The Scottish Snowdrop Festival began in 2007 and it has grown to include gardens of all kinds, from castles to crofts, some with acres of native snowdrops and others home to important collections of specialist bulbs. The Festival is organised by Discover Scottish Gardens and many garden owners open in aid of Scotland’s Gardens Scheme, with gate receipts going to aid a range of charities.

With the full list of events and garden openings to come, you’ll not want to miss on this spectacular display in Scotland’s gardens and woodlands. Mark your calendar for the 26th January and keep an eye out for the news to come of special events and openings during the festival, which will include gardens across Fife, the Lothians, Highlands, Argyll, and the Scottish Borders.
