Willowhill is a 3 acre garden with two major design features. The first, to fit with the landscape and provide a sense of travel and discovery, wide sweeping paths through a large grassland area lead the eye to the focal point of the hill beyond and gardens around the house have paths curving and undulating through and around borders. The second, to produce dramatic effects borders are designed using different vibrant colour combinations. The North Garden has a circular lawn enclosed by mixed borders of pale pink, blue, white and lemon blending into burnt orange, chocolate and purple-red plantings. The South Garden has a gravel path meandering through beds overflowing with plants in a palate of red, blue and yellow leading to a long hot border packed with orange, magenta purple and acid yellow plants opposite two more recently developed purple and red borders.
