Scottish Rhododrendron Festival

May 20th, 2018 - May 20th, 2018

Forty years ago when we arrived there were a couple of established rhododendrons. We have added some every year; dwarf ones on the rockery, larger ones in the woodland garden. All purchased from Gendoick; all fully hardy, all chosen for our climate in west Fife, which is harsher than many parts of Scotland. We have tried to extend the flowering season from February onwards to give a colourful display, especially in April, May and June. Unfortunately some early flowering ones do suffer from frost damage. In May they are surrounded by bluebells, Meconopsis, Trilliums and hellebores.
