Ardmaddy Castle Gardens - part of the "Glorious Gardens of Argyll and Bute" is open daily from 9 am till sunset. The Walled Garden is in its prime with a huge variety of rhododendrons in full flower, with Magnolias, Japanese and deciduous azaleas following on. The under storey now fully carpeted with many interesting and unusual ground cover plants, hardy perennials and other shrubs. Inverewe Garden is an eden of exotic colour and fragrance and is famed for its range of 400 different species of rhododendrons, with flowers to be found somewhere in the Garden every month of the year. Part of the Scottish Rhododendron Festival come and see its celebrated collection of rhododendrons burst into bloom.
The Garden is an experience for all the senses, a colourful, inspiring place to visit in any season, but particularly in the Spring.
Join a Sunday guided walk and see Dawyck's stunning collection of rhododendrons and other spring highlights. Celebrate the Scottish Rhododendron Festival with a guided walk at one of the world’s finest arboreta. The climate at Dawyck is suited to hardier, higher altitude species which have proved their tolerance to cold winters, late spring frosts and uncertain summers. As well as a stunning collection of rhododendrons, you will see some of Britain’s oldest and tallest trees. The walk, which is free with normal Garden admission, will last approximately one hour.Find out more
Come along to Benmore Open Day where there will be crafts and plants for sale and the very popular home made cake, candy and preserves.
There is a Gardeners' Tombola and a raffle and face painting, hands on pottery, and a safari Treasure Hunt for the kids. Filling the Garden with music we welcome the pupils of Dunoon Grammar.

Plant Power (in partnership with the James Hutton Institute) & Family Picnic & a Play in the Botanic Gardens. Come along to an informal gathering, with free entry to the Botanic Gardens for the afternoon. Bring your picnic hamper and take the chance to relax at the end of such an exciting weekend! There will also be a special performance of the Four Marys play - four iconic Marys – Slessor, Brooksbank, Walker and Baxter – each helped the city in their different ways. Lots of fun activities will be taking place throughout the day, including music, birds of prey and badge making.Find out more
