Claudia Ferguson-Smyth, a Recorder with the Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland and a volunteer in the RBGE Herbarium will tell the story of the important 20th century Orkney botanists responsible for the only specimens of Orkney flora in the Henry Halcro Johnston Herbarium at RBGE. This event will be of particular interest to those going on the Friends of RBGE tour to Orkney in July this year.

This year the Teddy Bears will have the unique opportunity to experience the zip wire hung across the garden. But it’s not only for bears. Last year toy koala’s, lions and rabbits were amongst those that had the thrill- so anything can have a go.
This family event organised by the Haddington Garden Trust will also have a summer treasure hunt and lawn games. Teas will be served on the terrace of Haddington House and there will be a sales table selling plants and other items.
The Laburnum walk will be at the start of its flowering season.
