Garden Open Day

The House of Aigas has a small arboretum of named Victorian specimen trees and modern additions. The garden consists of extensive rockeries, herbaceous borders, ponds and shrubs. Aigas Field Centre rangers lead regular guided walks on nature trails through woodland, moorland and around a loch. Teas will be available in the main house, as well as ranger-led nature walks and a small plant sale.
Champion Trees: Douglas fir, Atlas cedar and Sequoiadendron giganteum
Directions: Four and a half miles from Beauly on the A831 Cannich/Glen Affric road.

On the magnificent setting of Armadale Castle's front lawn, transport yourself to the days of Bonnie Prince Charlie with thrilling costumed performances. With an impressive arsenal of rapiers, broadswords and claymore, experts from the Renaissance Scots Living History Association will re-enact scenes of combat from the Jacobite era and before. Find out the real stories which inspired the TV series Outlander, see the fearsome Highland charge and get up close to real weaponry. There’s also the chance to have a go yourself using realistic practice weapons. Suitable for all the family.

Lochcarron Highland Games

The Lochcarron Highland Games, known as the Friendly Games, are held on 3rd Saturday in July every year.
Lochcarron Highland Games feature the traditional mixture of heavy events, track and field plus highland dancing and piping displays (these are not competitions). Pipebands play throughout the afternoon. Wide variety of stalls and stand selling food, drink, crafts, and all sorts of goodies.
Access to Attadale Gardens is free on this day to those who attend the Games
