Visit Hopetoun to enjoy the display of Snowdrops around the historic designed landscape. The grounds and tearoom of historic Hopetoun House will be open for one day only this winter. Wander around the hundred acres in amongst swathes of Snowdrops before warming up in the beautiful Stables tearoom where you can enjoy hot food and drinks. Each year it seems there is a growing appetite for Snowdrops. This year, after a cold spell of weather, these “harbingers” of spring are in full swing again. Whilst Branklyn is most famous for its vast array of Rhodendrons, Blue Poppies and vibrant Lilies, Head gardener Jim Jermyn has introduced over 100 different Snowdrop varieties in the last few years since his arrival enhancing the visitor enjoyment in early Spring. Come and view the snowdrops throughout the gardens. It will also be a chance to see the gardeners hard at work, making sure everything looks wonderful for our visitors when the Castle and Gardens open for the season. The café will be open for tea, coffee and cakes for a donation to local charity. Join us at the Gatehouse by 2.00 pm to have a wander round the gardens, we shall show you the snowdrops; there are more this year. It's a chance to enjoy the views when there are no leaves on the trees, it all looks so different and you will see much further than usual.

We'll be making noise to wake the fruit trees from their winter sleep, hosting the New Year Pooh stick challenge and keepoing cosy with hot drinks and snacks from the cafe. A great way to start the New Year!

Our Hogmanay party is back again! Tickets include a cocktail on arrival, a delicious 4 course dinner, fizz at the bells, Auld Lang Syne, and dancing til the wee hours. Every year this party is a complete sell out so book early to avoid disappointment.
This year we will be joined by The Smoking Barrel Ceilidh Band, who will be providing music and dancing all night long.
Children are very welcome to join us for Hogmanay, we will have a children's menu available.
