Scottish Tree Festival

The Champion Trees at Ardkinglas also include 'the mightiest conifer in Europe' a remarkable European Silver Fir (Abies alba) with a girth of nearly ten metres. Other champions in Ardkinglas Woodland Garden are Patagonian Cypress (Fitzroya cupressoides), Hinoki Cypress (Chamaecyparis obtusa), Western Red Cedar (Thuya plicata) and the unusual Mountain Hemlock (Tsuga mertensiana var. jeffreyi).

Craft fair and raffle at St. Vigeans

Friends of the Rose Garden will have a table at this craft fair.
We will have a wonderful selection of homemade goods where funds will go towards the Rose garden and it’s continued regeneration. We will also be drawing our raffle at this event and all tickets sold will be contacted on this date.

Join ethnobotanist Jennie Martin at Logie Steading for a fun and informative day learning how to identify broadleaved trees in winter - easier than you think when you are shown how to do it! Jennie has worked in nature conservation and education for over 25 years delivering courses to all ages from primary school children to 95 year olds.
This winter tree id course is an entry level course for those wanting to learn how to identify trees in winter.

Witchy Walk – Hallowe’en Event
