Rhododendron Festival 2016

April 12th, 2016 - May 31st, 2016

Attadale is fortunate to have a large collection of many very venerable rhododendrons, some of which have grown to remarkable heights in the Old Rhododendron Dell. Others along the Water Garden Walk have regenerated themselves growing out of old tree trunks. There are also many newly planted dwarf rhododendrons which have been planted widely to provide ground cover, echoing the example described by Peter Cox, the rhododendron expert, where dwarf rhododendrons cover the Himalayan hills in a similar manner to heather growing on the Scottish hills. More prosaically it should mean less weeding.
