Rhododendron Festival

April 1st, 2017 - May 31st, 2017

Dawyck is home to a fantastic collection of species rhododendrons, many of these are original introductions of their type. The climate at Dawyck has always been better suited to hardier, higher altitude species which have proved their tolerance to cold winters, late spring frosts and uncertain summers. Most notably plants from subsections Taliensia and Fortunei, thrive. Examples of these include R. decorum which produces fragrant pale pink flowers reliably each year, even after temperatures below -20C.
