Covenanters Besieged

June 22nd, 2019 - June 23rd, 2019

In 1650 Dirleton Castle was besieged and badly damaged by 1,600 Cromwellian troops. Meet the defenders, both royalist and covenanters, find out the differences between Scots and English soldiers, walk through the working living history camp, handle weapons of the time, and watch as the soldiers perform an impressive pike drill.
